The annual Appleton Thorn Village Hall Beer Festival was another success for Alison, Derek and Kris.
Some thirty beers, plus ciders and perry, were available to please all tastes – along with a selection of hot and cold pies to soak it all up!
This year’s theme was “Virgins” – i.e. breweries and therefore beers that hadn’t appeared previously at the Village Hall.
They included such local breweries as Tipsy Angel, from the Lower Angel in Buttermarket Street and DB of Runcorn as well as beers from much further afield.
The extra capacity provided by the absence of a band was welcomed by most visitors and it’s fair to say that everyone is looking forward to next year’s festival already.
