42m wind turbine planned for Arley Road 1

Vestas-V42-600kw-wind-turbine-4A proposal to erect and operate a wind turbine at Moss Hall Farm on Appleton Moss has re-emerged.

The wind turbine is due to rise to a height of 42m above the ground.

The picture on the right is of a Vestas 42m 600KW wind turbine, although it is not know what model of turbine is planned.

The CARE campaign group, amongst other villagers and local residents, are concerned that this will have a serious detrimental impact in terms of visual appearance and noise. Concerns have also been expressed about the effects on wildlife (birdlife in particular), water levels and flows (being built on a Moss) and safety of aircraft given the proximity of light aircraft routes and the proximity of local airstrips.

The application has been submitted by Glasgow-based business Renewables Unlimited and is due to be decided upon by Cheshire West and Chester Planning Officers shortly.

Full details of the application may be found on Cheshire West and Cheshire’s Planning pages.  The application reference is 14/01816/FUL.
