A fantastic exhibition of ‘Mod’ culture was in evidence recently in Appleton Thorn.

Anyone trying to cross Stretton Road or Grappenhall Lane will have been held up for around 10 minutes whilst a two to three mile long column of scooters paraded eastbound through the village.

There was a huge variety of scooters, old and new, some highly customised and others obviously kept to original specification.

Well done to the organisers and participants who were well ordered and kept to the 30mph speed limit – which is more than can be said for much of the traffic taking that route.
