Jaywalkers at the Village Hall

Fresh on the heels of Jim Crawford’s excellent performance last month, villagehallmusic changes tack completely and proudly present Jaywalkers. We’ve been trying to pin them down for some time and have finally managed to secure their services on Saturday 22nd February.

Jaywalkers

Jaywalkers have already cemented their place as one of the most exciting and entertaining young bands working on the British folk and bluegrass scene. They first came to prominence as BBC Young Folk Award finalists and since then have released 2 albums and played festivals all over Europe, including the prestigious Celtic Connections in Glasgow last month. Their website www.jaywalkers.co.uk confirms just how busy they are, and also contains videos and sound samples to give you a taste of what to expect – a tremendously talented trio producing music of the highest quality.

Their music heavily features Michael Giverin’s original compositions; creating a unique sound based on their musical backgrounds of folk, bluegrass, country and western swing in the form of instrumentals, three part harmonies and slap bass. Add good humour, tasteful arrangements and exceptional musicianship to the mix and a great night is guaranteed!

As usual, tickets (£10) are available from behind the bar at the Village Hall or from Roger Kenyon on 07946 378599. Doors open 8ish and there’s no reserved seating.

See you there!
Roger Kenyon & Peter Price
