English Half Marathon 2011

The English Half Marathon, in its third year, is again routed through the village, meaning that many roads are restricted or entirely closed on Sunday 18th September.  This includes parts of the main Stretton / Grappenhall Lane and the entire length of Lumb Brook Road.

Although there was some escorted one-way traffic flow possible last year, residents and visitors are advised to make alternative travel or parking arrangements if they need to go anywhere on the morning of the race.

Hopefully the weather will be a little kinder to runners and spectators than it was last year when substantial numbers of villagers turned out to cheer on the runners.  A number of villagers have taken part in the race, including Mark Davies of Hatchery Close and Ged Brown of Amberleigh Close.
